This was another excellent movie that I’ve been wanting to screen for a number of years, but the MovieNight-specific problems with The Door in the Floor are numerous: marital breakdown, tragic death of children, mainstream Hollywood actors, god-awful trailer, Roger Ebert loved it, etc.
Thanks to the four of you who turned up (and also the two who dropped in just for a drink). OK. I get it. Fair enough. You want something different. You want fun. Next week.
BTW (Confession alert!), I’m not sure how many of you were aware of the great scam I successfully perpetrated around the wonderful The Cranes are Flying after a lousy turn-out at the first screening. I sent out an apology to all those that had to be turned away due to over-attendance, and promised to show it again soon. I did. The next screening was completely packed. Sometimes a little lie is a good thing. Not one person who came for the second screening was disappointed. On the contrary.
Am I a bad per(h)son?
