MovieNight goers had a real treat this week, in Taiwanese director Hsiao-Hsien Hou’s The Assassin. Yes, it was slow-moving, but who says (Hou says?) everything needs to be going full-speed ahead? All the better to take in the incredible beauty served up on the screen. That includes Qi Shu, of course. The Assassin is a masterpiece.
